The weather was less than ideal for a day of birding. With thanks to Chris Woerner for his expertise in driving in the horribly snowy conditions, we bravely headed out to see what we could find after I kicked off our team's count at 7 a.m. in my yard making note of a Fox Sparrow as a 'good bird' for the day. The snow was coming down at such a clip that made photographing birds was rather difficult at best.
I end this post with a heartfelt thank you to Gary and Carol Lemmon for hosting this event again this year, for the excellent food, and for the good company. To Chris Woermer, thank you for great company, steady resolve to travel the snow covered roads with ease, and for sharing your numerous experiences with birds and the various habitats. And to Lauren Brown, thank you for the great company and having another fun birder to hang out with today!
